Citrus County is more than just a small town to pass through on your way to the larger cities of Tampa or Orlando. While it may not have the theme parks of Orlando or the night life of Tampa but Citrus County and the cities in it (Crystal River, Homosassa, Inverness, etc.) do offer some very unique experiences all its own.
We have been working with the kids to introduce more fresh fruit and veggies into the mix. We usually do it but we are really trying to be more consistent. So we figured this week we would kick it off with my son's favorite fruit: STRAWBERRIES!

We love taking, at least, one day of the week (typically Friday) a day where we unwind and head out to discover a new restaurant with the kids. We have found some pretty awesome places some kid friendly and some that would be better for a date night.
For a family of 4 it can be a bit expensive, thankfully Restaurant.com make family dinner night out much more affordable which makes it even more enjoyable!

I have been asked quite a few times if we take the kids with us when we go to the places we find and it depends in a few things but a majority of the times yes we do.
Now if it is somewhere we can openly walk around and nothing for them to get into to much then yes as a way to get them interested in exploring and taking out the fear of getting hurt factor then its a go. Aside from being fun, the educational side to it cannot be beat. I mean come on we got to see a space shuttle external fuel tank!
It was a rare occasion that my husband and I have to go out to eat without the kiddos and we were so excited to visit Brio and check out their new menu promotion A Tale of Two Risottos. I have never had risotto before so I was not sure what we were about to be in for.
