Kooza By Cirque Du Soleil Coming To St.Petersburg!

Now you may remember last year I posted about fulfilling a dream I have had since I was a little girl about going to go see a Cirque Du Soleil show live in Orlando: La Nouba. I was beyond excited to see that another show would be coming to St. Petersburg:

Kooza will take you back to the origin of Cirque Du Soliel and if this show is like all of the shows I have come to love…granted I have only been to one live show…. it will not disappoint. You will see physical demands on the human body that only seem possible in your wildest dreams. Set design, costumes and performances that will make it feel as if you were transported to a different world or even a different planet. Seeing it on TV was one thing but being at a live show takes it to a whole different level. Here are some of the characters and performances:

The House Troupe burst into action at the top of the show. The act highlights include human pyramids, bodies flying through the air and a “crash bash”—a daring dive into a circle of fabric inspired by the “Nalukauq,” the traditional Inuit game of “Blanket Toss” and the landing mats used by firefighters.

High Wire Act

The twin high wires are suspended 15 and 25 feet above the stage, and the four tightrope walkers add their own tension to the 6,600-pound load on each rope. Their expert ability allows them to perform feats in the air that most of us would find difficult to do on the ground.

Fun For All

Kooza will be arriving November 8th in Tropicana Field. Get times and ticket prices, dates and time Here. I would also sign up for Cirque Club so you can score exclusive access to pre-sale information and access to special content from wallpaper, music and more!

Sesame Street Live Coming to Jacksonville, FL This September! Get $3 Off Coupon

My kids love Sesame Street and for those that live in Florida it is coming this September to Jacksonville, FL (a good reason to go visit my sister in-law)!

The show will be at Moran Theater Sep. 28, 29, 30th.

Mark your calendar for this once-in-a-lifetime event – monsters becoming musicians! Elmo, The Count, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Bert & Ernie and all their funny and furry friends are taking to the stage to share the magical world of music with children. When Jenny, the new Sesame Street music teacher, moves into town, her instruments get lost. Jenny’s new Sesame Street friends quickly come to her rescue, and they all discover “instruments” that they never knew existed…rubber duckies, trash can lids and even their own laps! The characters teach children, and themselves, that everyone has the ability to make beautiful music, whether they realize it or not. Don’t miss this opportunity to count along with The Count, visit Elmo’s World and do the Crumb-A-Rumba with Rositaand Cookie Monster at Sesame Street Live “Elmo Makes Music.”

Family Night Out | SuperWhy! Live You've Got The Power

Family night was amazing this past weekend as we had the opportunity to go visit the Straz Center in downtown Tampa to see the first-ever SuperWhy! Live SuperWhy! Live You’ve Got The Power Show. My kids love all of the shows PBS Kids has to offer and as parents my husband and I love that they offer shows that are not only fun but educational. My little ones were so excited when they learned what show we were there to see.

We were not sure what to expect once we got to the Straz Center and found a parking spot we began to make our way inside. It was a pleasant surprise to BlueBell had set up a table and were passing out ice cream for the families coming in. It was a nice surprise on a hot Florida day where it was somewhere in the low 90’s but it well like in the low 100’s.

We were all excited to start making our way into the theater, but we had to make a quick stop by the VIP desk. The VIP tickets make it possible for you to attend the after show party that includes a meet and greet. At the desk we were given souvenir lanyard and posters and paper masks for the kids.

Show Time! The kids had fun dancing to the music they had playing, it sounded like Kidz Bop.

The show started and it was amazing from the start. Wyatt and his friends: Pig, Red, Princess Pea and Woofster set out on their adventure to find the greatest “Super Power”. They went through each of the characters showing what each wanted to be when they grew up from a rock star, a boat captain to an astronaut. Just as in the PBS show the kids had to find the letters to enter into their “Super-Dooper Computer”. You even get to see the Why Readers take off through Storybook Village in their “Why Flyers”.

As a mom what I have always loved about Super Why is they encourage reading, imagination and an understanding that they have the power to be whatever they want to be when they grow up and it was extended to the show. The show had high energy and a ton of confetti! I was still picking some out of my little guys hair even after the show was over.

I have to admit that along with the kids I was sad to see the show come to an end. However, I knew the fun was far from over. It was time to meet the character up close and that was something I knew the kids had been waiting for from the time we arrived. So we make our way to the room where we were to have the meet and greet/party and it was a kid fun house with balloons all over the floor, a table with coloring pages and crayons and a play area. Everything needed (including snacks and bottled water) to keep the little ones busy while we waited for the Wyatt and his friends to make their way into the room.

Play time was over once Super Why made their way into the room and the kids ran to where I stood in line for Princess Pea. She is my daughters favorite character and of course it is the one picture that came out with her eyes closed. She didn’t care, she hated to leave her side she is big on princesses!

Overall, if you cannot tell from the pictures above the kids had an amazing time and I am still listening to them sing the SuperWhy! Songs all the way back home until they fell asleep and then again while they were eating breakfast the next day. Be sure to check online at SuperWhyLive.com to find out if the show is coming to your area so you won’t miss out.

*Disclosure: We were provided tickets to the show and the VIP experience in return for our honest opinion which are 100% our own. No other compensation was received.

Experience Super Why Live: You've Got The Power #SuperWHYLive tour

Super WHY Live vibrantly brings to life Super Why, Alpha Pig, Wonder Red, Princess Presto (my daughters favorite) and their puppy pal Woofster, who each take children on larger-than-life, imagination-stimulating adventures. With the help of you the audience, the characters embark on magical, out-of-this-world journeys to explore what they’ve always wanted to be – from a ship’s captain to a rock star and more! While singing, dancing and interacting with the characters on stage along the way, pint-sized fans (and parents, alike!) discover who really has the power to make dreams come true!

Tickets are on sale now so be sure to visit www.superwhylive.com for more information and to buy tickets and the VIP “Meet & Greet” packages (Going to the Florida shows? Check below for a promo code to save on tickets).

Super WHY Live adds a whole new exhilarating dimension to Super WHY and its power to entertain and inspire young children,” said Samantha Freeman Alpert, Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the series and Co-Founder of Out of the Blue Enterprises. “We’re so excited to extend the beloved series from the screen to the stage with this full-scale live production for families to enjoy together.

Out of the Blue’s Angela C. Santomero, mom of two and creator of Super WHY and Blue’s Clues, on how to make it a “super” special time for the whole family:

Know the Score – Listen to the music from Super WHY Live: You’ve Got the Power! together, so children will already be familiar with it before the show – while moms and dads get a special kick out of knowing that the show features new music from Jack Antonoff of the chart-topping indie band “fun.”!

Dress Rehearsal – Have your kids come dressed up as their favorite Super Reader! It’s a great way to get them into the spirit of Super WHY and to make them feel like they’re a part of the show!

You’ve Got the Power! – Let your kids know this high-flying new show is all about having fun! Like the popular Super WHY TV series, Super WHY Live: You’ve Got the Power! encourages its young audience to shout-out their responses to the characters and dance and sing along with all the engaging action. No need for “inside voices” during this interactive production; part of the fun is learning as they play along!

Super Readers! – Turn the experience into a super reading expedition! Show children the letters and numbers on their tickets before arriving and have them help identify the section, aisle and seat where you’ll be sitting. Play an “I Spy” spelling game until the show begins with familiar elements all around the theater (lights, curtains, seats, etc.).

Curtain Call – Arrive early so preschoolers can take a “mini tour” of the venue – and don’t forget to visit the potty before the opening curtain! Snacks and naps ahead of time also are a “super” help for making a happy audience!

Universal Orlando Superstar Parade and Cinematic Spectacular #YearToBeHere

I had an amazing weekend at Universal Studio Resort. At the end of the day I could see why this is an extraordinary year to be here. It was just my husband and I for this trip as the little ones were spending their weekend with my husband’s parents, they are too small for roller-coasters and I really wanted to ride some of my favorites like the Mummy and Rip Ride Rocket. We had park to park tickets so we wanted to make our way to Islands of Adventure to go on the Amazing Spiderman Ride since we had never been on it yet. However, in honor of the Avenger we had to take a ride on the Hulk!

We even ran to Spiderman roaming around and the line of people waiting to get a picture with him. The Superstar parade did not start until 5pm so we had some time to roam around the park and enjoy the nice Florida weather. Be sure to check out my Google+ album for the fun we had before the parade and the before the Cinematic Spectacular. The parade itself was amazing, we were able to get a spot right at the start of the parade over by Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue. This was all I could see over the gate:

All of the Nickelodeon Superstars were there…Spongebob Squarepants; Dora The Explorer, Despicable Me and the Minions and Hop. It is definitely a site to see all these characters that I watch with my little ones come to life. It made me sad that the little were not with us but we will definitely be back with them to go and see the parade my oldest would love to see Spongebob and the gang and my youngest is obsessed with Dora the Explorer!

The highlight of my husbands’ and I evening was the Cinematic Spectacular and it is a MUST see as the show and how they set it all up is just simply A-mazing!. [Read more…]

Amazing Night At Monster Jam 2012

Every year we try to make our way to one of the hottest event to hit the Tampa Bay Area!

Metro PCS, Westshore Pizza, 1-800-ASK-GARY, Your Southern Ford Dealers and Dairy Queen present the

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam®.

Every year the one event that the family and I wait and plan for is Monster Jam. This year was the first year that my daughter (2) was able to go and I think the first year my son (4) is finally able to get into it. This time when we went we decided that this would be the perfect time to go for a ride in a monster truck! I would recommend you get there super early to get in line. Ride passes can be picked up at Advanced Auto Parts for FREE!

Yea I was gonna take a picture while we were actually on the truck but yea I was holding on for dear life while my 2 yr old next to me had her arms up in air screaming “Wahoo!” While we were there we met some AMAZING people who was nice enough to invite us to tailgate with them it was awesome! We had a ton of fun. Finally 7pm rolled around and it was SHOW TIME!

Our seats were awesome! We were on the end line where Grave Digger was parked…eeeek…my son was so excited. He calls it the Ghost Car.

This year is a special year since it is Grave Diggers 30th anniversary. Tonight  Dennis Anderson- driver of Grave Digger- did not disappoint the fans during the freestyle portion of the night he did amazing! Alongside with Maximum Destruction they both did really great that evening and my son loved to see the big trucks jumping and some flipping over.

We were so close that in the ear plugs we put in my little guys ears was not enough…as you can see.

For her first time baby girl was right at home sitting with daddy.

If you plan on making it to the show here in Tampa be sure buy your tickets on Ticketmaster. Be sure to check out my Google+ Album for more photos.

Tickets for both shows start at $15, and they are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at www.ticketmaster.com.  Tickets will also be available at the Raymond James Stadium Box Office.  For more information, log on to www.monsterjam.com or call Raymond James Stadium at 813-673-4300.

Disclosure: I was provided with free tickets to provide this review. All opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

Dispicable Me Coming to Universal Orlando 2012

If you have recently visited Universal Studios Orlando you may have noticed some construction going on, well the wait is almost over Despicable Me Minion Mayhem based off of the Despicable Me movie set to open this summer.

You will be able to join all of your favorite characters from the movie Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and of course the mischievous and adorable minions. You will be the newest recruits and will have to undergo training and of course things will not go as planned and you will find yourself on a crazy journey.

Organic Mommy Goes To Disney

File:Walt Disney World logo.svg

Ok now I know this may sound crazy but I have never been to Disney World! I have been to Disney Land being the Cali-girl that I am but all of these years I have lived in Florida and have never had the chance to experience Disney World. Usually when we go to Orlando we make the turn to go to Sea World or Universal Studios so when my husband turned down the exit to go to Disney World I almost giggled myself out my seat…I felt like I was a little kid again I had my poor hubby cracking up.

We had the park hopper pass where you can hop between all four parks for one day. So we figured that since Magic Kingdom did not close until 1 am we would make our way there last. My husband had his heart set on going on Star Tours and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (which we went on TWICE) at Disney Hollywood Studios.

It was just me and my hubby this time around as the little people were spending the weekend with my husbands parents they love having the kids over and they do not live close so when they are able they will take the kids for us. I was surprised at how much stuff there was to do at the parks for bigger kids 😉 I also saw a ton of things I know my 4 and 2 yr old would absolutely love to do.

The spectacular event of the evening was the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular:

Jiminy Cricket is your host, guiding Pinocchio, Cinderella, Ariel, Peter Pan and other beloved Disney Characters through a fantastic tale told amongst the stars.

A magnificent musical score synchs with the fireworks for a stunning aural and visual experience, featuring unique pyrotechnics and special effects.

Discover that wishes do come true when you experience Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, a story so big only the sky can hold it!

The sky was filled with the most amazing fireworks display I had seen in a very long time.

Disney Fastpass = Amazing

When you decide to go I would definitely recommend getting the Fastpass for some of the attractions. I am glad we had one for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith it was a 65 min wait when we went in the Fast Pass entrance and we were going to go again but by that time it was an 80 min wait! So I would definitely recommend getting it. Here is how it works:

  • Once you get a Fastpass accepted attraction locate the kiosk
  • Insert your admission ticket and your ticket and the Fastpass ticket will come out

  • It will look like the above…
  • The times that show on the ticket is your return times so I would pick it up early and then go around to other ride until the return time approaches.
  • Best of all it is Free! I wish all parks had this.

Overall I really enjoyed my visit to the parks and I will be back with the kids this summer for sure and will spend the weekend because there is no way we saw it all in the one day that we were there.
