I have always been a fan of Cirque du Soleil and the last show I went to in Orlando La Nouba was amazing and I could not wait to get the chance to go again. So when I was given the opportunity to review KOOZA playing at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg it was a dream come true. The little ones stayed with my mom so it mean date night for me and my hubby 🙂 I loved that the show itself took place in n actual tent, it led to the true circus feel.
The beginning of the show was really great we walked into the tent and the clowns were already out making the entire crowd laugh. They had the entire crowd in an uproar of laughter and I loved the interaction with members of the audience. Once the lights began to dim I was on the edge of my seat.
About the show:
Since its premiere in Montreal in April of 2007, KOOZA has charmed over 4 million spectators in North America and Japan. It’s the last chance to see KOOZA in North America before heads to Europe.
While the show was overall AMAZING! I had some parts that I will never forget and would love to see again:
Wheel Of Death
I had to start with this performance, it literally had me holding my breath and even covering my eyes. I was nothing I had ever seen in-person before and it is just as nerve-racking to watch on TV as it was to watch right in front of me. When these massive rings began to turn under the power of the first performer I was okay, I was even okay when the second performer jumped into the empty hoop but what got me was when they made their way onto the top of the hoop doing flips and jumps and not sure if they were going to land on the top of the moving hoop once more.
One thing that has always mesmerized me about Cirque Du Soleil shows are the costumes, set design and the soundtracks which I have for almost every show (KOOZA is the next one on my list). To say that the costumes were amazing for KOOZA would be a drastic understatement.
This show had just about everything you could ask for and more!
From the performances to having wine and cupcakes during intermission…oh yeah they pulled out all the stops for the premiere of the show.
