The South Beach Orlando condos had its grand opening on July 4 2008 a (still) colorful 144-unit hotel property on U.S. Highway 192 near Walt Disney World. After a number of bad reviews of people not being happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, poor management and even one report (that I could find) of having their card charged even after they checked out and not receiving a refund. Sales dropped and the foreclosure was filed on the property in the early 2000’s.

Here is the original commercial for the condos it looked like a lot of fun:

Here they have sat vacant for several years being ravaged by vandels but it was nice to see that a company has gone in to get things cleaned up.

After what we saw they have a long road ahead of them and many of the building were in a large state of disrepair they may need to tear them down completely.

I have been asked quite a few times if we take the kids with us when we go to the places we find and it depends in a few things but a majority of the times yes we do. Now if it is somewhere we can openly walk around and nothing for them to get into to much then yes as a way to get them interested in exploring and taking out the fear of getting hurt factor then its a go. Aside from being fun, the educational side to it cannot be beat. I mean come on we got to see a space shuttle external fuel tank!
