I am addicted to baking from scratch it is healthier and it is something the kids and I enjoy doing together, and even my husband enjoys joining the kids and I in our baking endeavors. Since the kids have started school I have turned to baking as a way to cope with having both kids in school this year. my oldest is in 1st grade, and my youngest (Little mama) is in pre-k. I do love that I can bake some treats for them. I have done some of the more healthy treats like ‘Ants on a log’ (celery stalk with peanut butter and raisins) and cucumber slices with ranch dip (one of my personal favorites). So this time I wanted to give them a real treat and surprise them with a good classic after-school treat I loved as a kid Chocolate Chunk Cookies (mine came out more as regular chocolate chip cookies).
I love baking with Karo Syrup it make my sweeter treats that much sweeter and all without having to worry about high-fructose corn syrup. They have been a widely trusted brand for over 100 years, and they help people like me create amazing and delicious treats and desserts. As this is a back to school post of course I have to share a picture of my two babies on their first day of school. 🙂
