Prepare for Battle June 20th at Universal Studios

So excited for this! Who here is a Transformers fan? This girl definitely is 🙂 The most amazing promotion for a ride to date was seen in Orlando, FL for the new Transformers 3D ride coming to Univerasal Studios Resort in June. In case you do not live in the area here is the larger-than-life promotion.
TRANSFORMERS The Ride-3D to Open June 20-1

Here is some more information about the ride:

Megatron and the Decepticons are closing in on Orlando…we must prepare for battle…

The highly anticipated blockbuster attraction TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D will officially open on Thursday, June 20, 2013, Universal Orlando announced today. Universal also launched an all-new “Join the Resistance” Facebook experience to prepare fans for the battle they’ll experience on the mega-attraction. “Recruits” can create their very own NEST IDs, train for battle, access exclusive photos and video and win prizes – including a trip to the attraction’s grand opening celebration on June 20.  Click here to join the resistance.

TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D is a mind-blowing, action-packed ride experience that pushes the limits of technology to place guests in the middle of a larger-than-life battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The ride was created under license from Hasbro, Inc. and is based on its iconic TRANSFORMERS brand. The battle begins when guests enter the NEST facility – the headquarters for the government operation that partners with the Autobots to protect Earth from the Decepticons. While inside, they are recruited to help protect the AllSpark – a powerful energy source that would allow the Decepticons to destroy the planet. Guests board EVAC – an Autobot created exclusively for the attraction – to transport the AllSpark to safety. But beware…the Decepticons are in close pursuit…

Blue Man Group Universal Studios Orlando

One of the items on my bucket list was to see a Blue Man Group show live. I remember watching a live show on HBO when I was in middle school and remember how amazing they were. So when I got the chance to see their latest show at Universal Studios Orlando.
The feeling of the show was very fast, upbeat and amazingly fun! I was kind of glad that I decided not to bring my 3 and 5 year old. While I did see some kids there (they were not as young as mine, had to be around 10 and up) it is not that the show was not family friendly and it is I am sure my kids would have loved the music and the really cool colors and lights. It was too loud in my opinion.

If you have never been to a Blue Man Group show there is no speaking, it is just 3 guys covered head to toe in blue paint. I think that is what i found the most exciting about the show. They perfected the phrase “Actions speak louder than words”. I loved their interaction with the crowd, there were many times they came out into the audience and even had someone from the audience come up on stage.

Watching them create artwork from paintballs that caught in their mouth was something I had never seen done before and is not to be missed.

Yes this is one show you cannot afford to miss it is something that will stay with you and will make it entirely worth while to go.

The sounds and the music made it hard to stay still in your seat, it was not until the finale portion of the show that encouraged you to get up and start moving.

Travel Tips:

The show is over an hour long with no intermission so be sure to stop and grab a bite to eat prior to the show starting. Do not forget to bring your camera, while you are not able to take photos during the show you can take photos during the finale.

If you are in Orlando, FL you will find the Blue Man Group theater near the Universal Studios entrance in the City Walk area

Ticket Prices:

Adult tickets: $69 and up
Child ticket: $29
Parking: $15 (the price goes down to $5 for parking after 6pm EST so if you go to a BMG show go to the later show at 9PM if you want to save on parking).

The show was simply amazing and is something I will have to make my way back to go see very soon.

Disclaimer: I was provided complimentary tickets to review the show. All opinions above are 100% my own.

Celebrate the Holidays at Universal Studios Orlando

I was so excited to learn that I had been invited back to enjoy the holidays with the family at Universal Studios Orlando. The Grinch, the Macy’s Holiday Parade and Mannheim Steamroller all make for a perfect holiday trip for the family. We started our trip by making a stop in Seuss Landing to meet the big green guy himself…the Grinch.

Just like last year my youngest would not go anywhere near him but she loved the show it was amazing and it told the great message portrayed in the beloved Dr. Seuss story about the giving and caring for each other over material things. Once the show ended in Adventure Island it was off to The Macy’s Day Parade in Universal Studios side of the park. It was larger than life and we had an amazing view of the parade the kids were so excited as they lined the sidewalk eagerly awaiting the sounds of the sirens from the Police on their motorcycles and the music to start.

The show, the floats and the balloons were amazing! The parade begins every evening at 5:00pm, December 1 – January 1. There were quite a few new additions to the parade this year and one of my favorite were the Trykaloons.

Mannheim Steamroller  Perform Live!

To bring the end to a perfect evening was watching Mannheim Steamroller  perform live. This year they have changed up the performance and are playing more shows than they have in previous years. Performances begin at 6pm and will play on the following dates: December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23. It is definitely not one to be missed they play many of the original holiday favorites as well as some of the songs from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Universal Orlando Superstar Parade and Cinematic Spectacular #YearToBeHere

I had an amazing weekend at Universal Studio Resort. At the end of the day I could see why this is an extraordinary year to be here. It was just my husband and I for this trip as the little ones were spending their weekend with my husband’s parents, they are too small for roller-coasters and I really wanted to ride some of my favorites like the Mummy and Rip Ride Rocket. We had park to park tickets so we wanted to make our way to Islands of Adventure to go on the Amazing Spiderman Ride since we had never been on it yet. However, in honor of the Avenger we had to take a ride on the Hulk!

We even ran to Spiderman roaming around and the line of people waiting to get a picture with him. The Superstar parade did not start until 5pm so we had some time to roam around the park and enjoy the nice Florida weather. Be sure to check out my Google+ album for the fun we had before the parade and the before the Cinematic Spectacular. The parade itself was amazing, we were able to get a spot right at the start of the parade over by Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue. This was all I could see over the gate:

All of the Nickelodeon Superstars were there…Spongebob Squarepants; Dora The Explorer, Despicable Me and the Minions and Hop. It is definitely a site to see all these characters that I watch with my little ones come to life. It made me sad that the little were not with us but we will definitely be back with them to go and see the parade my oldest would love to see Spongebob and the gang and my youngest is obsessed with Dora the Explorer!

The highlight of my husbands’ and I evening was the Cinematic Spectacular and it is a MUST see as the show and how they set it all up is just simply A-mazing!. They went through the 100 years of heroes, villans and movies we all came to love/hate and will remember for the rest of our lives; like Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds, Back to The Future and to the more recent Despicable Me.

it brought back so many wonderful family movie night memories. Narrated by Morgan Freeman it was a site to behold watching the movies that I remember and could probably recite word-for-word displayed on cascading water.

The incorporation of water lights and fireworks only added to the magic of the evening.

Overall, when they say that it is an Extraordinary year to be here they were NOT kidding! I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store for Universal Orlando Resort. I was super excited to see the new (yet unopened) Dispicable Me Minion Mayhem ride (this replaced the Jimmy Neutron one):

So be sure to make your summer vacation plans to head to Universal Orlando and experience it all first hand!
