I was recently given the opportunity to revamp my living room with some amazing decor items available at Cost Plus World Market. We had never heard of the World Market so this was going to be a fun outing, and then i started looking around the house for what areas I needed to have a quick pick me up.
So we had a plan…somewhat…and now to head to the store to see what they had to offer. Once we got to the store I began to kinda get excited this would be the first time since we moved into our new house that we are actually going to start doing some decorating. Once we got there and I saw the amazing items they had to offer I saw that trying to pick a few items was going to be hard.
When we walked in I loved seeing the items in their new Kingdom Animalia collection:
We fell in love with the large maps and letters like the one above, but then tried to think of where in the house we could find that would be able to house them… and we couldn’t but I told my husband that once he rebuilds our patio then we may have to make our way back to World Market to pick them up and have a safari themed patio. Many of the items really spoke to me and they were in my price range but I literally could have spent hours in the store and we did. We were there for a little over 2 hours walking around and mentally designing almost every inch of the house with “this would be great in the bathroom” or “that would be great in our bedroom or in the kitchen.” However, like my mom always told me, the key to home decorating is to start with one room and stick with it. So during our trip we wanted to spruce up the living room area.
Until we build the office off our bedroom my office is in the living room so we were able to space it out and create a less cluttered area on the stand underneath the TV. One issue we had to tackle was keeping track of the remote controls for the TV, speakers, cable box and Blu-Ray player. We were always losing them and trying to remember where we sat them down at, so the wire basket with linen lining caught my eye and I knew it would be perfect to help us keep the remotes in one place.
I have to say that among the amazing prices and items World Market had to offer my favorite find (if I had to choose) were the tin popcorn bowls for family movie night and the Charging Station Hutch for our cell phones (the regular price for hutch was $49.99 but I only $9.98!). When I saw it I fell in love with the vintage feel.
Overall my experience at the store was one I will remember when we move forward in decorating our home and creating our own unique space. I am happy to have found a store that fits our unique tastes and will definitely make a return trip to find more fun and unique items. Be sure to check out my Google+ Album to see more photos.
