New city, new town same family! Well we have made one of the biggest changes that we have ever made…we moved! Yep we are no longer Florida residents while we are only about 11 miles from the Florida/Georgia line it still is HUGE for us. I moved to Florida from California quite a few years ago and hubby has been here ALL of his life, we have traveled but Florida was always ‘Home’.
So many changes happened as far as our attitude went proving that a change of scenery was I what we needed. Now I LOVE to travel…as you know If you read my blog…but I have always liked doing little DIY projects and to the opportunities to do some while I took a break from blogging.
DIY Kingsize Headboard
This project literally took one day and I spent maybe $40-50 on it….
Tools and Material Needed:
MDF board – 1/2 to 1 inch
Queen size egg crate x2
3/8 inch staples
fabric – 6 yds (Only needed approx 5 but I plan on making an accent pillow)
Batting – 3 yards
Our kids had an old wood bunk bed and I used the MDF board and the bedsides for the legs to attach it to the bed frame. The fabric I found on sale at Walmart and instead of foam I grabbed two Queen size mattress toppers and place them on top of each other to make it fluffy.
Laid it all out, stapled it down and Voila kingsize headboard for a fraction of the cost I saw them for online and in furniture stores. I do have some other projects in the work, if you follow me on Instagram I plan on posting some projects there as well.
