Exploring Sanford, FL Series Day 1: Marshmallows, Limes and Schnitzel

Ride Lime City Tour

One thing I did find awesome and I wish more areas would adopt this, are city tours or transportation aside from Uber, Lyft and Buses. Ride Lime and our driver gave us an amazing introduction to the city. Our tour around town with Dan was both informational and enjoyable.

If you follow the team and I and our travels to abandoned places you know where my heart is and how annoyed I get when I saw these fantastic buildings with so much history torn down and replaced with modern this, and that’s. Sanford is NOT like most cities they not only save and repurpose these old buildings and they pride themselves on the history and the charm.

So many of the houses in the downtown area have been lovingly provided some much needed TLC and sold as residential home while some of the larger ones turned into multi-family homes. It’s definitely a growing area and due to the many parks and playgrounds around it is no wonder so many families are moving to the area.

Some of these homes are decades old and have been lovingly restored for residential and multi-family homes.

Our Driver Dan was Amazing! We learned so much about the area in our short-ish ride around town. He took us to some of the historic sites in town. Like the Mayfair Hotel was so cool and abandoned-ish. It does have investors that are looking to rehab the building and keep it as original as possible which is something I always like to hear, and I will be keeping tabs on this beauty and see what happens (the Mayfair might even be the teams next roadside adventure who knows).

Some shots from around Sanford.

Ride Lime is a free service that you can call and they will help you get where you need to go safely. While it is free please tip the driver.
