Many do not realize is that chocolate is not only great to eat but also makes a great face cream for your skin. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, is rich in antioxidants that help to keep your skin healthy.
Chocolate skin cream is a simple recipe to make, and the ingredients can be found in the aisles of your local grocery store.
What You Need
- Oatmeal Powder
- Heavy Cream
Honey is naturally antibacterial and it opens the pores of the face so that they can be properly cleansed. Oatmeal works to remove dead skin, dirt, and grime that can clog the pores and make your skin more susceptible to acne, blackheads, whiteheads, etc.
What You Need to Do
Make the mixture “creamy” by combining 1/3 cup of cocoa, 3 teaspoons of the oatmeal powder, 3 tablespoons of heavy cream, and 1/4 cup of honey into a medium to large mixing bowl. As you begin to mix, take note of the consistency of the mixture and add more cream to the face cream mixture as desired. However, monitor how much cream you have put into the mixture. This is so you can avoid making the mixture too runny.
Gently massage the cream onto your face in a circular motion. Apply the cream onto the neck as well. This will allow the oatmeal to gently exfoliate, removing the layer of dead skin keeping your natural glow at bay. Leave the cream on for about 20 minutes.
Rinse the mixture off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a lukewarm wash cloth to help relax your skin and truly bring out a healthy glow. Once you are finished using the mixture, place what is left inside a lidded bowl or jar and place inside of the refrigerator. The mixture should keep for 1 to 2 weeks.
