You need to grab yourself a bargain from time to time. Life is just too expensive as it is, so the more you can buy and save, the more you’re winning in life. Not everyone is the best at bargain hunting though. The lure of the familiar shops you know and love are all too much. But those shops are often charging you a fortune where you could otherwise be saving money. The things you’re buying you could easily find somewhere else for a fraction of the price. So we’re here to show you how to do it. Let 2018 be a year of bargain hunting with these tips.
Charity Shops
If you haven’t ventured into a charity shop then you’re missing out. There’s a lot of stigma around them only being a place where you can get old people’s clothes or dodgy second-hand things. If you believe this stigma then you’re sadly mistaken. Charity shops will open your eyes to another world of bargains if you let them. You can find absolutely anything in there, apart from food. Appliances, clothes, accessories. The world will be your oyster behind those doors. They don’t sell things that don’t work either, so there’s absolutely no reason to believe they wouldn’t be as good as you could get in a shop. Yes, they’re second hand, but they’re not different in terms of their quality.
Auctions
Auctions are something that a lot of you might class as a bit more upmarket. Some of the things being sold on there are antique, and you can often grab yourself such a bargain if the right thing comes through. There are auctions selling so many different things as well, so all you need to do is find one that you know has got the goods you want and head on down to it. Auctions are a fast-paced environment, however, and to some people, this can be a little intimidating. There is an art to winning an auction, more of which details can be found here on Dealdash. The main thing you need to remember is that you really can’t bid more than you have, keep a cool head, and make sure you enjoy yourself. The auction room environment will definitely leave you feeling buzzed, especially if you win something that you really want. Your local auction shouldn’t be too far away, and they’re convenient in the sense that there’s one pretty much every weekend and will most likely be in your local area. Head down to one just to try it out and see what you think!
Online Shopping
Online shopping is perhaps the home of bargains. If you know the right place to look, you’re in for a treat. You can now buy pretty much anything over the internet as well, so all you need to do is find the right site for what you’re looking for. There are some big named ones such as Amazon which you can use to find a bargain, but even just the normal brand stores that you’d see hold offers all the time that they don’t in the store. Let the internet become your best friend in your bargain hunting quest.

Whenever I shop online I always look up if there are any promo codes!
I find that Goodwills, if you look, can have great deals. Many times I find brand new clothing with tags on for a fraction of the cost! Same with consignment shops!
I love that photo of the mall! Very artistic!
These are all great ideas. I prefer to shop online most of the time and I always look for sales and coupon codes from places like Retail Me Not. I used to like to shop at a store when I lived in FL called Platos Closet because it was right by a university and the college students would sell their unwanted clothing there. Most of the time the things I purchased there were BNWT or maybe worn once.
These are some great ideas. Ive thought about going to an auction to see what they are like. i use online shopping frequently.
Dont forget storage unit auctions. I cant tell you how much we have bought from those. Since that show Storage Wars, it got a bit ‘rough’ as people were overbidding, but we have found plenty of bargains. Our home is filled with auction finds- go to farm or household auctions not he ones for antiques (unless thats what youre looking for) I have seen new appliances for $5 merely because no one wants to haul them.
Charity shops are the best, but your have to shop around and see with ones haves alot of new everyday. Salvation army here doesnt get a lot of new items. Good will has new stuff every week.
