Seaworld has always been a fun trip for us. My daughter is a future vet, she has such a love of animals because of our trip to the zoo, Busch Garden and Seaworld. I was so excited to have the chance to take a break from life and have some fun learning new things and visiting with the penguins at the new Empire of the Penguin at Seaworld.
From the start of entering Antarctica and standing in the 90 minute line (yes! that’s right. It was at 45 minutes when we got in thankfully but as we left the line was at 90 minutes so be sure to get there early if possible).
About Empire of The Penguin
Come explore the biggest and most expansive attraction in SeaWorld Orlando’s history, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. This epic exploration of a mysterious world blends animal encounters with an exhilarating family ride for a one-of-a-kind experience the family will enjoy. Be transported to an icy world like you’ve never seen before. Experience the majestic grandeur of the South Pole and see it through the penguins’ eyes on an exhilarating, first-of-its-kind family ride. Then, step out and explore their colony in an expanse that envelops you in cool extremes: bringing you above and below their icy world. Are you ready?
Bring Your Jackets!
Yes it is sunny Florida so a jacket may not always be needed but summer or winter a jacket should on your list of must haves for this ride, especially at the end. The start of the ride you can choose between Mild or Wild . The only difference between the two is:
As a moving ride Wild moves faster, quicker turns and spins.
The mild ride is required for passengers under 42″ tall. Riders under 48″ must be accompanied by an adult.
Thankfully my two fit the bill so Wild it was!
From start to an all too soon finish you are transported to Antarctica and taken on a magic ride with Puck through his amazing and sometimes dangerous journey to his family.
Yes at 30 below and the kids not wanting to leave because the penguins were simply adorable Jackets are a MUST!!
Overall Empire of the Penguins is fun and very educational experience for kids of all ages. Due to some technical difficulties with the ride (what do you want its new) we got to go twice 😉 So as a good rule of thumb for visiting bring the smiles, bring snacks/drinks, get their early and be ready for a possible well worth it wait.
