HowlOScream ’15 | Busch Gardens

It had been YEARS since I last went to Busch Gardens or any theme park for that matter. So when I got the chance to go to Busch Gardens HowlOScream 2015 I was beyond excited to go, especially with the new Unearthed house.

The house itself was very well put together and the poor people missing their eyes made appearances here and there. The only thing I think that would have made this house better was more storyline going in but even in the promo leading up to this house did not provide as much backstory as I would like to see. I know they are not making a movie, but a bit more would have made the experience going in that much more.
Unfortunately, we did not make it to all the houses but the ones we did make it to were really cool. The first and my favorite was

If you are familiar with laser tag then this will come to you with ease as you make your way gun in hand in a Walking Dead-ish atmosphere. You are quickly prepped on how to use your “gun” and take out some zombies that come at you from literally everywhere the sides, below and above.

I think this is why the line was 2 hours long…yes you saw that right 2 insanely long hours lol but I assume it is because it is a fully interactive house and a very popular one.

I was glad I brought my umbrella because well…#FloridaProblems lol.

Once you get there be sure to hit this house up super early on before the crowds start to funnel in.

Okay so I hate to say it…actually no I don’t this ride made the entire trip to HowlOScream worth it for me and the crew we rode this like 3 times throughout the night…it was like as we made our way past and we were pulled into the line by a magnet LOL.

I was kind of hesitant because I have been on tower drops before and my back has paid the price afterwards mainly due to the jerky motion in which they stop you but not with this one it was smooth and when I say smooth it was smooth as hell!

You are on your way all 335 feet in the air with an amazing view of the park…well.. that is before they put you face down looking all the way at the ground below and they hold you and then down you go and end with nice swoop upwards at the end.

Overall, our experience at HowlOScream was really good. It was the first time we had been back to HowlOScream in quite a few years so it was a lot different from when we first went it was still not always suitable for kids but we did see a number of kids walking around and babies in strollers :/

Now for some tips:

  • Get their early
  • Buy the passes to get through the lines faster
  • Get to the houses you want to go to early
  • Keep the map handy because you will most likely get lost lol. While we were able to see a lot of where the houses were we got turned around a lot. There seemed to be a number of dead space in between the small handful of “Scare Zones”. So be sure to keep an eye on the map.

Above all else…Have fun! It is Halloween after all 😉
