Lightening McQueen Racing Academy

So the family had a huge surprise over spring break! We got a chance to check out the new Lightening McQueen Racing Academy that just opened March 31st at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and to say it was amazing is an understatement.

About The Show

“Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is located next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. When guests cruise inside, they will come face to face with Lightning, who appears live on stage. The theater features a 17-foot-tall wraparound screen that stretches more than 200 feet end to end, enveloping guests in high-octane fun.

During the 10-minute show, Lightning shares racing knowledge gathered over the course of his illustrious career. And if there’s one thing he’s learned over the years … things don’t always go the way they’re supposed to. But with the help of Mater, Cruz Ramirez and other friends from Radiator Springs, Lightning is bound to get back on track. Sometimes you just have to turn right to go left!

Disney Parks Live Entertainment worked closely with the creative team at Pixar to bring this completely new Cars story to life. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will run continuously throughout the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.”

DJ’s Ready! Set! Party Time!

Throughout the day you will get a chance to meet with and dance the day away with the Lightening McQueen pit crew right outside the theatre.

Not mention some great photo opportunities

At  “DJ’s Ready! Set! Party Time!” you will be able to join the Pit Crew for dancing and some pretty fun games for the kiddos.

Thoughts On The Show

Honestly I was just a bit skeptical from my adult brain standpoint (I knew the kids would have a blast) but I was wondering how much you could get out of a 10 minute show. As it turns it was a blast and it honestly did not feel like 10 minutes. I also have to say that apart from the river journey this is my next favorite Disney animatronic. Not giving too much away but check out the short clip below.

If you get a chance to check out the show let me know what you think of it in the comments 🙂 There is so much heading to Disney this is definitely the year to be here now more then ever.
