Ever since my husband and I got married we have wanted to take cruise…we have yet to do it. However, when we do finally go we have it easy since we live in Florida we can leave from either Tampa or the Miami port. The last time I looked up cruise information some of the most popular ports mentioned were either in Florida, California and Alaska. What many do not know is that there are other ports where you can leave to have your cruise vacation and one of these not-widely-known ports is located in Baltimore, MD.
If you are planning on taking a cruise with your kids then you are in luck as you have places to visit with the family if you are in the area and your cruise vacation has yet to depart. Some of the local area attractions include something for the entire family from hotels, restaurants, museums, etc. you will be sure to find something fun to do.
My sister lived in Baltimore for quite some time and when we went to visit our favorite place to visit was the Inner Harbor. It is home to a variety of hotels, food options, shops and day trips that your kids will be sure to enjoy which includes museums and the aquarium.
Some of the other area attractions include:
- Take a trip to the aquarium
- Visit the B&O Railroad Museum
- Check out the Port Discovery Children’s Museum
- For a slower pace try the Heritage Walk
- Take a walk through the Cylburn Arboretum
My brother in-laws family still lives in Baltimore so around the holidays and now that my little ones are a little bit older (3 and 5), they will enjoy more of what the area has to offer, my son loves trains so a stop at the B&O Railroad Museum is a definite stop we will have to make. Not to mention Washington DC is and hours drive away, so that just opens up even more fun family trip options for your family to enjoy.
