We were so in love with the idea of owning a house. We had been living in rentals for years, and we couldn’t wait to finally be able to do whatever we wanted with our space. But when it came time for us to go furniture/decor shopping, I felt like everything was so expensive, and nothing seemed quite right. And then there was the issue of decorating; we had no idea where to start but at least we had a blank canvas to work from.
I know they usually say, “don’t sweat the small stuff,” but I was definitely sweating the small stuff in this room. I had everything that I wanted but it was the little details that were hard to find.
True Stock Studio to the rescue!
They make amazing handmade carved wooden signs. Which really spoke to the vision I had for my guest room/crafting space. I wanted something zen, down to earth, and of course handmade. True Stock Studio checked all of those boxes.
Family Owned Business with a Vision
They are a family-owned company, which is amazing all on its own as I love supporting small business owners, they also have a mission and a vision to enrich the lives of people on a global scale. Every sale goes towards a charity of your choosing. So you get some amazing art for your wall and you support causes that mean a lot to you and all involved. Charities such as Feeding America, Black Lives Matter, and Unicef all benefit from the company’s desire to see past just making a sale but making a difference.
Based in my dads’ hometown of Chicago Jason Schickerling creates hand-crafted wood wall art and wooden sign decor.
The venture was founded in 2018 on an idea from Jason’s daughter, with a simple request to have a lotus flower carved into a black wooden background to add to her bedroom.
Fast-forward to today, and her design is now one of True Stock Studios’ most popular products, adorning the walls of hundreds of homes around the world.– True Stock Studio
Seeing as the Hamsa Hand and Lotus Flower art were the first ones that first caught my eye I can see why that is one of their most popular designs today.

Making a Decision
I spent hours on their website trying to figure out which sign I wanted for my guest room vision. I was able to bring it down to my top two favorites:
I wanted the room to have a nice zen and earthy-type feel for anyone staying in the room or when I am down there sewing or using the Cricut maker. All of their wall art would work for what I was wanting since all of their wall art is made from natural wood. So I ended up going with the Hamsa Hand Lotus Flower, I felt it would really make a nice addition to the current decor, which was all found at a discount (our local thrift store and I are on a first-name basis).
The 12×12 size of the sign is perfect on the bedside table next to my quirky little lamp person; I might move it later as the rest of the room comes together (removing the carpet and putting in vinyl plank), but for now, it looks exactly like what I had in mind, and I love it.
Homeownership is never easy, I thought the most challenging part of homeownership was buying the home, but oh no, it is decorating. We spent so long dreaming and window shopping without knowing what our forever home will look like; it was just left to dreaming and imagining how it will look. So a huge thank you to True Stock Studios for collaborating with us on our new home decorating vision and using your craft to make the world a better place, and enriching the lives of so many.
