However, this doesn’t mean that you should stay bored while your are on board. There are so many different entertainment options that you can enjoy these days – largely thanks to modern technology. But in this article, we are going to give you a couple of different options beyond the obvious reading a book or watching endless bad movies.

Listen to Some Podcasts

Over the past few years, podcasts have come back in a big way. As a form of entertainment, the concept is very simple, but they can also be very engaging when you are sitting still for a long time. There are so many different options out there including business, comedy, information, politics, sports – whatever you are interested in is bound to be covered by a podcast show. And best of all, many of them are free to listen to.

Play Smartphone Games

Smartphone games have advanced in a big way in recent years, and there are plenty of options to hold your attention during those long flights. If you are looking for a game that draws you into a new world and takes you on an adventure, you need to experience Final Fantasy XV. And there are also plenty of more simple options such as the classic arcade games if you would prefer.

Plan Your Trip

While you are sitting down for hours on end, you have the perfect opportunity to start planning your trip and getting excited about the adventures that you have in store. Bring a travel guide, a map and a notebook and you can start writing down the things that you have to see and the places you most want to go. This is a very useful way to spend your time as you will end up being so much more prepared once you get of the flight to make the most of your trip.

Learn the Language

With so many free language apps out there these days such as Duolingo, you can spend your time on the flight learning a few key words and phrases. This will be especially invaluable if you are travelling to a country where English-speaking is limited. Put on some headphones and start working your way through the basic exercises.

Be Productive

Many people combine travelling with work these days. The rise of remote working has made it easier to be productive while you are on the road. There are many flights which now have WiFi capabilities to make this easier than ever.

As you can see, there is no reason why you should be bored while you are on a flight these days. Make sure that you have plenty of entertainment options prepared and you will find that the time will fly by – no pun intended!
