This is a sponsored blog post, but all opinions are my own.
This pandemic has been a true testament to our family’s resilience and changes our kids’ learning landscape! However, as terrible as Covid has and continues to be, some bright spots are the number of new schooling programs made available virtually.
I think little mama has enjoyed her virtual classes (she misses her friends in person). She goes on virtual field trips with her class and so much more. II was excited when I contacted to check out the new self-paced online homeschool science classes and labs.
Who created the course?
Greg Landry is a homeschooling dad himself and a former college professor with over 20+ years of teaching. Throughout the courses, you can tell his love of teaching and his love of inquiry-based science. He has a great way of keeping younger kids engaged and find real joy in learning.
The Schedule
The entire course is self-paced, which meant that it would not interfere with her current studies. I could have had her do it over break, but we needed a break. to enjoy family time in our new house and play in the snow.
The classes, broken into 13 sessions, include:
- Class #1 – Note-Taking, Studying, & Test-Taking
- Class #2 – Metric System, Temperature, Precision, & Accuracy
- Class #3 – Scientific Method & Lab Reports
- Class #4 – Creation, The Cell, & Organelles
- Class #5 – The Skeletal System I
- Class #6 – The Skeletal System II
- Class #7 – The Muscular System I
- Class #8 – The Muscular System II
- Class #9 – The Digestive System
- Class #10 – The Cardiovascular System – Heart
- Class #11 – The Cardiovascular System – Arteries & Veins
- Class #12 – The Cardiovascular System – Blood
- Class #13 – The Respiratory System
What I loved
I loved the courses; the information provided was excellent and easy to understand. The visuals and the information provided I can see helping will help as she continues her education and will most like put her ahead of the game in science classes.
What I didn’t love and would I continue?
Right from the start, it’s stated on their website that it is a “Christ-Centered Focus” program, and every video starts with a prayer. While I am not opposed to prayer, it is just a personal preference for me as I am not Christian (total pagan over here but allowing my kids to choose their religious path as they get older). Still, I looked past that because the course information is fantastic and is fact-based and not faith-based information. Would I continue? Sure, I could see continuing with the course and looking into other classes offered. Knowledge is power, and anything that will ensure my kids have an excellent education is okay by me.

How much are the classes?
The pricing for classes varies depending on the course you are looking to sign up for, from what I can see. We did the Self-Paced 4th-7th Grade 1 Semester Online Classes, which is currently $151 on sale from $240. Be sure to also take a look at some College Prep Science freebies.

What Material is needed?
Thankfully since it is online and self-paced. All we needed was a notebook and color pencils.
